A commerce graduate from NUIG and an accountant by profession, Ignite Seamus was Managing Director of one of Magma Films, Irelands largest film and production companies with operations in Germany and the UK prior to joining Ignite. He is a dedicated professional and has led many significant international projects in this role and has particular expertise in Team leadership and management skills. Before moving into the Media industry Seamus was deputy chief executive of Westbic, a company within a European network, specializing in providing support to high end start ups and the development of innovation within indigenous companies in Ireland.
In addition Seamus is highly experience in dealing with SME across a broad range of sectors and has also held the following positions:
- External Evaluator of enterprise projects seeking support under the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation
- Member of the Forfás Advisory Committee on Regional Innovation and Technology Transfer Strategies
- Member of the Galway City Partnership Enterprise Board
- Curriculum Developer, Lecturer and Examiner on Enterprise Management and Development of Rural Resources (Masters Degree Programme at University College Galway)
- Lecturer on Community Enterprise Development Programmes (UCG)
- Tutor on Entrepreneurial Skills Development Programmes throughout the Western region of Ireland
Seamus is married, with three children and lives in Loughrea, Co. Galway.
