Senior Executive in a new role

Contract parameters:

  • This was a three way contract between HR Director, Coachee and Nial O Reilly (Coach).
  • HR Director will be up-dated jointly by Coach and Coachee every eight weeks during the term of the contract.
  • Details of the content of the coaching sessions, outside of the regular updates, are confidential to coach and coachee (as long as issues raised are within the law).
  • Coachee and Coach to function as partners in the Coaching process.
  • The process will be participative and commitments given in the process will be honoured. 
  • Assumptions and judgments to be challenged by both parties.

Expected Outcomes:

  • The objective of the process is to support the Coachee in the transition to his new role. As a result he will:
  • Have a deeper level of self-awareness
  • Develop an understanding of his habitual behaviour, personality and leadership styles
  • Develop an understanding of his strengths and how best to leverage them
  • Create a detailed personal strategic plan and a personal action plan
  • Have telephone access to support from his coach (24 x 7) throughout the term of the contract.

Duration: 6 Months

Emerging Leader seeking clarity

Background:

  • An emerging executive possibly in line for divisional CEO but unsure of her readiness to take up the role.
  • Agreed Outline:
  • A two way contract ( third party involvement only with coachee's consent)
  • A holistic approach dealing with work and life issues
  • Function as partners in the Coaching process
  • Participate and don't withhold
  • Question each others assumptions and judgment
  • It is accepted that details discussed in coaching are strictly confidential

  • Increased levels of self- awareness.                    
  • Increased levels of self- appreciation and self- care     
  • Increased levels of self- control                
  • More confident deep down                        
  • Greater balance between intellect, emotions and instinct
  • Clarity about what future success would look and feel like

Sales Director Seeking Clarity

Sales Director struggling with career direction sought coaching over a three month period to achieve clarity and direction.
Outline:
2 way contract
Three month duration meeting bi-weekly
Behavioural and personality profiling, strengths finding and 360 emotional intelligence audit
Details discussed in Coaching are Confidential
(With the exception of activity of a criminal nature)

Expected Outcomes:
A greater level of clarity and focus around goals
Greater enjoyment from work role and life in general
Learn a Coaching style of management
Better Management of key Relationships
Greater levels of self- awareness
Better organized, better action planning
Clear medium term personal strategic plan

Outcome:

At the end of a highly engaged and interesting coaching process the coachee elected to step down from his management position and revert to his old position as sales executive to improve his work/life balance and allow him to do what he enjoyed most in his work i.e. meeting with and satisfying customers needs. This proved to be a highly satisfactory result for both the coachee and the employer in this instance.
